The Archives contains records from western Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Mandates/Sources of authority
The Archives of the Franciscan Holy Spirit Province Saint-Esprit of Canada is established by the Provincial authority as the official repository for documents of any form made or received by the Province in the pursuit of its religious and legal obligations and in the transaction of its business. It functions under the authority and direction of the Provincial Minister and Council. The function of the Archives is to manage and provide access to records, publications, and artifacts which reflect the decisions, actions, and memories of the Franciscans of Canada.

Research services
Any person may contact the archives to access archival records. Researchers must state the purpose of research or intended use of archival materials before research is undertaken on their behalf by the archivist. Researchers may require permission of the Provincial Minister before access is granted.
Reproduction services
- Records disclosed may be reproduced, providing that the copyright status of the item permits copying.
- Researchers must complete a request for reproduction form before copies of materials are made for them.
- The costs of reproducing and sending copies may be charged to the researcher.
